about

In the 1990ies, before breaking through with Ugress in 2002, Norwegian composer and artist Gisle Martens Meyer was an active demoscene musician, publishing "musicdisks" as the artist Gnosis.

Created with sample-based trackers like Protracker or Fasttracker on early home-computers like the Amiga, Atari or an MS-DOS based PC, the songs in the demoscene were distributed as "open source" module music, using BBSes, newsgroups or traditional floppydisks sent in the mail. Anyone could open, play, edit or rip any song or sample.

Now, 30 years later and as part of the Ugress grand 20th anniversary in 2020, we're re-releasing all these musicdisks, rendered in highest possible quality and remastered for modern streaming platforms. The releases are supported by making-of videos, blogposts and articles in social media.
